Krieger's stainless steel doors and windows are used in situations where exposure to severe weather, salt and/or corrosive compounds is of concern, or in situations requiring constant washing and sterilization efforts.
Materials
304 - non-hardenable, austenitic (non-magnetic) low carbon chromium-nickel
steel which has a good general purpose corrosion resistance.
316 - non-hardenable, austenitic chromium-nickel steel with superior
corrosion and heat resistance qualities. Sometimes referred to as
"marine stainless". This grade is non-magnetic in the annealed condition.
316L is also available.
Fire Labels and Positive Pressure
Up to 1.5 Hours: UL 10C, UBC 7-2, UBC 7-4
Smoke Labels: Up to 20 minutes
Stainless Steel Door Construction
The core construction meets or exceeds HMMA 861 or comparable SDI standards.
Option 1 - Minimum 16 ga. skins. All hinge and lock reinforcing is
3/16" pre-drilled and tapped, backed by 12 ga. galvanized perimeter
channels to distribute the stress through the door. Intermediate
stiffeners are used to maintain flatness. Sound deadened and solidified
through a polystyrene foamed in place process (as opposed to a board
glued to the surface), cured and chemically bonded to interior surfaces.
Option 2 - (UL Fire rated construction) Minimum 16 ga. skins. All hinge and lock reinforcing is 3/16" pre-drilled and tapped, backed by 12 ga. galvanized perimeter channels to distribute the stress through the door. Intermediate stiffeners are used to maintain flatness. Sound deadened and solidified by a two layer honeycomb core bonded to each of the inside faces.
Configuration
Stainless Steel doors are available in flush design or with vision
lights and as single or pairs of hinged doors, including single or
bi-parting horizontal sliding doors. All assemblies are available
manual or power operated.
Performance Combinations
KriegerSatin stainless steel doors and windows can be manufactured
for multiple performance requirements including acoustical, bullet
resistance, blast resistance, thermal protection, radio frequency
shielding or any combination thereof.
Frame Configuration
Krieger offers standard frame designs and can engineer special
frame profiles to complement wall construction and architectural style.
Sizes
Standard and custom sizes available. No limits.
Hardware
Stainless steel doors and windows come with stainless
steel hardware to prevent corrosion.
Windows
Standard or sloped, mitered and polished to specified finish.
One side secured by welding to opening, the other applied by stainless steel screws.
Finishes
Stainless steel finishes can be embossed,
patterned, etched, bead blasted and colored.
#2D - Dull finish from cold rolling, annealing, and
descaling. Used where appearance is of no concern.
#4 - General purpose stainless steel bright finish
with visible "grain" which prevents mirror reflection.
#6 - A dull satin finish, less reflective than #4. Used
where high luster is undesirable.
#8 - Most reflective mirror finish, obtained by successive
buffing with finer grits until grit lines are removed.
Colors such as deep blue, dark bronze, bright brass,
copper, rose, black and others can be achieved.
